IMPHAL, May 4: Moreh Police today destroyed a large quantity of the banned Hydrochloride contained tablets and ephedrine powder, which were seized by the 42 Assam Rifles on May 2.
The banned drugs were burned to asses under an order of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Chandel in the presence of Addl SP of Moreh police Y Ashokumar Singh, OC Moreh Police Station O Doren Singh , SDPO Moreh M Rameshwar Singh, 9 Assam Rifles personals and other communities of Moreh.
The destroyed banned drugs are 93 kg (4 bags) of Ephedrine powder, Polyfed tablet 13 boxes, four airbags of Respifed tablet, and 16 boxes of Respified.
Y Ashokumar, Addl SP Moreh told the press that the banned drugs were destroyed under court order. The destroyed banned drugs worth Rs 27,15,654, in which Ephedrine powder worth Rs 18,80,000, Respifed tablet worth Rs 5,87,462,Polyfed worth Rs 3,48,192.
