IMPHAL, May 6: A major fire gutted a grocery shop and another furniture house, including a car at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai (Leirak Araobi) in Imphal West, destroying properties worth lakhs of rupees early morning Sunday.
The fire, the source of which could not be ascertained as of date, engulfed a grocery shop and another furniture house, including a car, burning them to the ground before the fire brigadedoused the raging fire.
The shop belonged to one Kumar from Moirang but the plot is owned by Salam Dwijamani of Kurao Makhong, and the furniture house belonged to one Kangabam Kiran of Kangabam Leikai.
