HSLC topper wants to pursue Automobile engineering

IMPHAL, May 11: Elated over his HSLC exam result, Chandam Achouba who is presently in Guwahati with his parents said while talking to IFP on the phone that he was always confident of making it to the top three.

Achouba whose permanent residence is in Utlou Lairam Leikai is in Guwahati with his parents, his father Ch Tomba Singh is a junior manager with the Airport Authorities of India and is currently posted at Guwahati and his mother Ch Sumati Devi.

Achouba, a student of St Joseph’s School Sangaipurou secured 471 marks out of 500 with letter marks in all five subjects and a solid in science.

He further expressed his desire to find his feet in the world of Automobile Engineering and selected Andhra Pradesh as the place for his further studies.

On asked about the education he the state, he lamented that the environment in the state is not conducive of education with year-long disturbances from all quarters and that the state lack good institutions for further studies.

He further continued that due to the several disturbances, schools cannot even complete the prescribed syllabus and as such students had to rely on private tuitions.

He also said that he studied for 3-4 hours daily in the initial months but later started studying for around 10 hours a day about three-four months before the exam.

He credited his teachers, parents and friends for his success.
