IMPHAL, May 14: Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association has expressed grief on the death of Shumang Leela artiste, Gurumayum Nabadip Sharma.
Nabadip, better known as “Kwaklei Saaba” died from a personal ailment on May 12 last at RIMS. He was 79.
The noted Shumang Leela comedian, a resident of Keirao Bitra Lairembi Leikai in Imphal East received the State Kala Akademi Award in 2003 and Nokphade Ningshing Mana in 2009 in recognition of his outstanding performance in the field of Shumang Leela.
Apart from paying respect to the late artiste at a condolence meeting, the association observed two-minute silence in honour of the departed soul at its office building, a release said.
