IMPHAL, May 2: The state Labour department has an allocated Budget Provision of (AP) Rs 120 lakhs out of which a total of Rs 114.39 lakhs have been spent during the financial year 2011-12, informed a source.
The said amount of Rs 114.39 lakhs was used for the implementation of six schemes, viz Labour welfare, Labour education, 20-points programme, Elimination of Child Labour, Information Technology and Night Shelter for workers.
However the department had to surrender an amount of Rs 5.61 lakh during the same financial year, the source added.
The amount Rs 5.61 lakhs sums up the the non-payment of Service Tax which was exempted from the Insurance premium; an amount of Rs 2.22 lakhs being the renumeration of contract engagement of one Executive Director of the RSBY Society could not be drawn and another Rs 2.35 lakhs which was earmarked for buying a Maruti Omni which was turned down by the Finance department, the source informed.
A sum of Rs 5285506 is yet to be converted to DCC Bills which included Rs 4060000 in the MH-8449 which is withdrawn to expedite the construction of night shelter at Chingmeirong, another Rs 942833 as State Matching Share of RSBY, Rs 283800 to be utilised under the Awareness Generation Activities for Prevention of Bonded Labour System and a sum of Rs 98900 released to work agency, MTDC for construction of Night Shelter Centre, it added.
The DCC bills of which will be submitted soon.
Meanwhile, in the case of ITI under the Directorate of Craftsman Training a sum of Rs 350 lakhs have been earmarked for the current Financial Year 2011-12 out of which Rs 282.61 has already been spent with a saving of Rs 67.37 lakhs, the source added.
The Directorate of Employment has Plan Budget Provision of Rs 12 lakhs and out of which an amount of Rs 11.97 lakhs was spent for office expenses viz for vehicle maintenance, purchase of items such as stationeries, toner for 34 computer machines, three Xerox machines, POL, Xerox paper and for payment of monthly rental charges for seven Photon+ devices and monthly rental charges of one mobile phone etc with a saving of Rs .03 lakh, the source informed.
