A driving licence under the name Laishram Ibochou Singh son of (L) L Ibomcha Singh of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, PS Imphal West was found from the dead body besides a money bag and a mobile handset.

When the staff at the centre informed the AR personnel that the centre has no mortuary, they said it was a normal case and left the body. The Centre is at present without a Medical Officer and the doctors had been recently transferred, said a source.

According to the CHC staff, the AR team was led by one Major Anand and accompanied by an AR Doctor named Dr AK Khan.

According to reliable sources, some locals saw Ibochou being picked up by three unidentified persons on two motorcycles yesterday evening from Jiribam Lamkhai. Even as the locals were trying to figure out the incident, the report of his dead body being handed over to the CHC came to light, the source informed.

Meanwhile, another source has also informed that Laishram Ibochou’s wife identified as only Indu was seen dropped off at their Hotel in Kalinagar late last night around 10:30pm by some persons who looked like AR personnel. She was also told by the suspected AR team that if her husband was found she would be informed of it or he would be handed over to the Jiribam PS, the source added.

However, Indu left early today at around 4am after complaining that her husband is yet to return and that she cannot sleep, the source informed.
