IMPHAL, May 29: Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro has today instructed the concerned contractor to rebuild the dismantled part of the Kakhulong Junior High School at the earliest.
Partial destruction of the school building had already started since Sunday to make way for a Multi-purpose Community hall under the PDA, however the incident came to light only yesterday.
Following the incident, the state Education Minister had asked the police to take up action against the contractors and persons involved in the incident.
The contractor has been identified as one S Ibohanbi of Keishamthong.
Meanwhile, a reliable source has informed that the area councillor Achong kamei came to the school today and questioned the teachers of the school on why they reported the incident to the media and that they should make proper clarification through the media on the issue.
She also produced before the school teachers documents which she alleged were issued by the PDA regarding the construction of Multi-purpose Community Hall, the source informed.
The school teachers however told her that they had not informed the media, and that she should produce the relevant documents before the concern ZEO or the DI, the source added.
Concerned Sagolband MLA RK Imo also visited the school and assured all possible help to the school.
