IMPHAL, May 19: Twice elected Thanga MLA Tongbram Mangibabu today nodded off during his own felicitation programme at Thanga Khoirom Hill Community Hall.
The MLA who was two hours late from his own felicitation programme dozed off during his own felicitation programme.
All other attendees including Padmashree Aribam Syam Sharma who presided over the function had to wait for the MLA till 4pm even though the function was scheduled for 2pm.
What made the incident more interesting is the fact that the MLA is also the president of the Thanga Artiste Association which, along with the Thanga Part II Gram Panchayat organized the felicitation function.
Miffed by the MLA’s late arrival and the dozing act, reporters who had arrived way before the scheduled time left the venue for Imphal.
