IMPHAL, May 29: Works Minister Kh Ratankumar has set October next year as the target for completion of the Churachandpur Mini Secretariat.
The minister was briefing reporters after inspecting the construction work of the Mini Sectt building.
He said in some other districts, ADCs and Mini Secretariat buildings have already been completed while only 30 percent is complete in the case of the Churachandpur Mini Secretariat building.
He added that he will take up necessary steps to shift the 27 AR post along with some houses located near the secretariat complex to expedite the construction works.
The work order for the construction of the Mini Secretariat building was issued in 2011.
Ratankumar attributed the slow progress of work to the four months time taken while giving compensation to the evicted residents.
He also informed that The Jiribam Mini Secretariat building has been completed 95 per cent and for Moreh it is almost finished, while 85 per cent has been completed in respect of Chandel.
The Works Minister was accompanied by engineers and other state officials during the trip.
Meanwhile, at least four Manipur Rifles personnel were injured when one of the vehicles, which was escorting the state Works Minister, skidded off and overturned at a hilly place about 8 km from Churachandpur district headquarters on Tuesday.
The incident happened around noon when the vehicle among the convoy of the minister skidded off the road and went turtle amid heavy rains on their way while returning from Churachandpur district headquarters, injuring four personnel of 1st MR.
However, the injuries of the MR personnel were stated to be minor.
