IMPHAL, May 27: Welcoming the “Meira Paibi Day” the proscribed RPF has honoured the women who had sacrificed their precious lives in the struggle to protect the people.
The crucial role played by the women of Manipur to defend the liberty and human rights of the people since early years in the history continuing up till now has made out the state throughout the world, RPF stressed in a statement issued by its secretary publicity, T Leishemba.
It also alleged that India has never stopped from its persistent efforts to root out the people in letter and spirit since it forcibly merged Manipur.
Putting the blame on the state government for numerous killings, forceful disappearance of many people, loss of modesty of women, hurling of bombs and shooting at private residences, and chaos in the state, RPF attributed all these to the incumbent government.
RPF also accused the government of attempting to set up NCTC to take more advantage to root out the people amidst the widespread movement of the people to remove AFSPA.
Stating that it is not possible to maintain peace, stability and welfare of the people who are under subjugation, RPF appealed the women of Manipur to lead the people into the real path and to vow together for a self-ruled Manipur on the occasion of Meira Paibi Day.
