IMPHAL, May 22: Manipur stormed into the semifinal of the 66th Santosh Trophy football tournament after holding Goa to a 2-2 draw in the last quarter final league round at Bhubaneswar.
Manipur has superior goal difference against Goa as Manipur got 7 points with 7 goal difference and Goa also got 7 points with 3 goal difference.
Kh Thoi of Manipur drew the 1st blood in 19th and lead by 1-0. Later Goa fights back and scored two quick goals and took the lead by 2-1 till the end of the half time.
The match was progressing with high tense and in the meantime Govin’s powerful shoot found the net in the 70th and levels it to 2-2.
Manipur is most likely to play against Railways team or Tamil Nadu in the semifinal on May 25.
