IMPHAL, May 27: Vice Chairperson L Tilotama, Board of Governors, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India has congratulated Maj Dr Neikhrietuonuo Ginuo Linyu on reaching the Top of the World.
Admiring the rare feat achieved and being the first Naga woman to scale the Mt Everest, Tilotama stated that Dr Linyu has become a member of an Exclusive Club of Everesters and is a symbol of determination and hard work.
Dr Linyu of Nagaland was a member of the 22 member Indian Army Mountaineering team, which included four lady officers. An alumnus of RIMS Imphal, Dr Linyu is posted at Agra at the UN Peace Keeping Force tenure at Congo.
