IMPHAL, May 25: Three tribal student bodies have supported the 24 hours bandh (from 5 am of May 26 to 5 pm of May 27) imposed by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University-Regional Campus Student Union, Manipur (IGNTUSU-RCM).
The bandh has been imposed opposing the proposed interview for some non-teaching posts (of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University) on May 26 in Guwahati.
According to separate releases of the three students’ bodies; Manipur University Tribal Students’ Union (MUTSU), Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) and All Colleges Tribals Students’ Organization, Manipur (ACTSOM) said that they will support the said bandh.
MUTSU said that they endorse the grievances put forward by the IGNTUSU-RCM to the concerned authority of IGNTU Amarkantak (MP) in particular and the Government of India in general.
MUTSU also urges the vice chancellor of IGNTU Amarkantak (MP) to look into the matter raised by the students of IGNTU-RCM.
