Zero tolerance against racial profiling: BJP

MUMBAI, May 14: The BJP said the party will not tolerate any type of racial discrimination against any person or group in the country and maintained that it is the basic democratic right of every citizen to move freely in any part of India.

This was stated by Maharashtra BJP unit spokesperson Shaina NC while addressing a gathering of Northeast students in Mumbai yesterday. The meeting was organized by BJP Northeast India Sampak Cell (NEISC) to pay homage to late Dana Sangma and Richard Loitam.

The BJP spokesperson said every citizen of India has the democratic right to move freely or settle in any part of the country and the party is committed to safeguard this basic right.

She also stressed on self courage, unity and to fight against all kinds of discriminations, assuring that the Northeast people in Mumbai would be secured.

The Northeast students in collaboration with NEISC and Bandra Hindu Association later staged a peace candle light march through Linking Road in the city to mourn the deaths of Dana and Richard. 

National convener of BJP North East India Sampak Cell, Mr. Sunil Deodhar, Ashish Shelar, convener of Human Rights Cell Mumbai, advocate Rajeev Pandey were also present on the occasion.
