IMPHAL, June 14: A recent sitting of the Advisory Board on National Security Act held at the office of the Central Jail Sajiwa, Manipur had approved the detention of 13 under-trials including two women.
According to a source, the 13 UTs include Khangembam (N) Puyam (O) Sabitri Devi alias Ing alias Memton, 47, daughter of (L) Kh Shamu Singh of Yairipok Pechi Maning Leikai and Leishangthem Naotombi Singh Sameirang alias Laman, 30 son of (L) Angou Singh of Nongren village both detained since April 16 and Kangabam Kumarjit Singh alias Nanao alias Ngamba alias Idomcha, 26 son of K mani Singh of Elangkhangpokpi Awang Leikai.
Others who have been approved for detention under NSA during the meeting include Kangujam Thoiba alias Sarat Mangang alias Sarat alias Naba Mangang alias naba, 57 son of (L) K Bira Mangang of Bashikhong, Kitnapanung detained since April 21; Moirangthem Ranjit Meitei alias Abungcha, 25 son of M Tomba Mwitei of Sagolmang Wakhong mayai Leikai, Sagolsem Romen Singh, 30 son of S Ibohanbi Singh of Loushangkhong Makha Leikai, Laishram Raghumani Meitei alias Thanil, 37 son of L Rashi Meitei of yairipok Siphai Leikai and Ningthoujam Kingson Singh, 33 son of (L) N Achou Singh of Thoubal Mayai Leikai all detained since April 25, the source said.
The meeting also approved the detention of Puyam Mongyamba Meetei alias Shusil alias Mongba alias Biren alias Shunil alias Ruhini alias Kaka alias Khura Meitei, 47 son of (L) P Indu Meitei of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai detained since April 26 and Meitalkeishangbam Kiran Meitei, 22 years son of m Joychandra Meitei of Thangmeiband Hijam PS Lamphel detained since April 27.
Further according to the source, the sitting had also approved the detention of Md Salatur Rahaman, 34 son of Md Abdul Manaf of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and Sapam Choubi Devi alias Premabati, 37 daughter of S Ibomcha Singh of Sairemkhul Mayai Leikai both detained since April 30.
