IMPHAL, June 26: A recent sitting of the Advisory Board on National Security Act held at the office of the Central Jail Sajiwa, Manipur had approved the detention of 17under-trials.
According to a source, the 17 UTs include Abujam Lamphel Singh alias Puremba alias Satrajit, 34 son of A Tombi Singh of Changagei Mayai leikai, Gurumayum Gunadhor Sharma alias Guna alias Khamba, 30 son of (L) G modhumangol Sharma of Saiton Salangkonjil at present Singjamei Sapam Leikai and Yumnam Kanhai Meitei alias Kirankumar alias nanao, 31 son of Y Achoubi Meetei of Takyel Kolom Leikai all three detained since May 7, 2012.
Others who have been approved for detention under NSA during the meeting include Soibam Basanta Singh alias Along, 25 son of S Sarat Singh of Iram Siphai Laiphrakpam Mayai leikai and Soibam Bhim Singh alias Inao alias Yaitomba, 19 son of S Sarat Singh of Iram Siphai Laiphrakpam Mayai Leikai both detained since May 15.
The meeting also approved the detention of Chanambam Puronjoy alias Kullachandra, 25 son of (L) Ch Kumar Singh of Ngairangbam Makha Leikai, Patsoi, Nongthombam Shitaljit Singh alias Sanatomba, 20 son of N Loken Singh of Thangtek Mamang Leikai, nambol both detained since May 16 and Kangujam (N) Ningombam (o) Rasheshowri Devi alias Anita alias Inaobi alias Nene, 45 wife of N Robindro Singh of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai at present Jiribam Kalinagar detained since May 17, the source said.
Further according to the source, the sitting had also approved the detention of Haobam (N) Konthoujam (o) Geeta Devi, 38 wife od K Mocha Singh of Khurai Ahongei Telipati, PS Porompat, Md Imran Khan, 20 son of Md Zuma Khan of Phundrei Makha Leikai, Thoubal PS and Md Yunush Khan alias Khamba, 23 son of (L) Md Maze of Sangai Yumpham Ningphou Mamang Leikai, Thoubal PS all detained since May 18.
Others approved for detention under NSA are Konthoujam Nimai Singh alias Premjit alias Konthouba, 32 son of K Nipamacha Singh of Thiyam Konjil Makha Leikai, Irilbung detained since May 21, Akoijam Chaoba Meitei alias Khamba alias Khambamacha alias Atomba, 30 son of (L) A Yaiskul Meitei of Wabagai Kadajit Mayai Leikai, Kakching PS, Moirangthem Deepak Singh alias Shanker, 20 son of (L) M Kumar Singh of Yairipok Yambem Makha Leikai, Yairipok both detained since May 25.
The source informed that the 17 also include Thokchom Ingobi Singh alias Mastar, 41 son of (L) Th Thokchom Thabi Singh of Thoubal Haokha Mamang Leikai, Kh Punchi Meitei, 38 son of (L) Kh Ningthouren Meitei of Yairipok Laimanai Arambam Leirak, Yairipok PS and Hijam Iboyaima Singh alias Poireiton alias Prem, 29 son of (L) H Tangang Singh alias Tangam of Yairipok Yambem Mayai leikai.
