2 killed, 2 injured in separate mishaps

IMPHAL, June 27: Two persons including a handyman were killed when two trucks loaded with sand had a head-on collision this morning near Nepal Dirung Waterfall at New Lamkang Khunou village along Imphal-Moreh road under Tengnoupal Police Station.

The victims are identified as Md Wariskhan, 20, son of Md Najaruddin of Yairipok Malom in Thoubal district and Md Sabir Khan, 22, son of Md Mubarak of Yairipok Zalliyangbi.

The road mishap occurred around 7:15 am. Wariskhan, a handyman of the truck with registered number MN-O1523 died on the spot while Sabir who was traveling in the same vehicle rushed to Shija hospitals but later succumbed to his injuries around 3:30 pm.

In another road accident, at around 5:15 pm under Kakching PS at Kakching Lamdong a Tata Magic had a collision killing the both the driver and injuring the pillion rider.

The victim is identified as Ksh Rojit, 30, son of Ksh Sanatomba, a resident of Kakching Makha Leikai Rajdhani Pareng and the injured is one Salam Sanjoy, 31, son of S Angang of Kakching Makha Leikai Naodam Pareng.
