IMPHAL, June 24: The government in a recent cabinet meet approved the draft bill of the Manipur Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Finance establishment) Bill, 2012 and its introduction in the ensuing 2nd Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
According to a reliable source, the state cabinet had also approved the revision of rent/licence fees for government residential quarters/bungalows occupied by the state/central government employees and MLAs.
However, the state cabinet also decided to separately consider the revision of rates for residential quarters and bungalows in respect of the state MLAs, the source added.
The state also approved the draft bill of the Manipur Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (7th Amendment) Bill, 2012 and to introduce the same in the ensuing 2nd Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
According to a reliable source, the proposed amemdment of the bill is to abolish Kanglatombi Zilla Parishad and also to include the Kanglatombi Gram Panchayat as a constituent GP of Khurkhul Zilla Parishad (Khurkhul & Phayeng Gram Panchayat) having a population of 18239 population.
Meanwhile, the government has also deferred the adhoc appointment in several departments involved in court cases.
According to a source, the Sunderlal Committee will be asked to expedite its final report regarding the adhoc appointment in education department and the department should furnish the numbers of adhoc employees and other details to the Dept of Personal at theearliest.
The adhoc appointment of department-wise involved in court cases include 18 in Commerce and Industry, 123 in Revenue, 17 in Higher Education, 23 in Consumer Affairs Food & Public Distribution, 18 in SCERT, 9 in Family Welfare, 6 in power, 3 in Tribal Affairs and Hills, 7 in CADA, 50 in Adult Education, 3 in Health, 15 in Horti and Social Conservation, 1 in PHED, 2 in Agri, 3 in Technical Edn, 18 in Vety & AH, 1 in Vigilance, 4 in YAS, 1 in Forest & Env, the source added.
