IMPHAL, June 2: A discussion session under the theme “Concern for the child” was held through video conferencing across Northeast states under the aegis of Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority Saturday.
Justice TS Thakur, Supreme Court attended the discussion as chief guest while AK Goel, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court gave the keynote address.
The state Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench also participated the discussion by linking the video conferencing system.
All the participants deliberated on deliverance of juvenile justice to the children and noted that children in the Northeast are lagging far behind the rest of the country with regard to juvenile justice.
