IMPHAL, June 4: A male dead body was found floating on the Sekmai River at Ningthou Laiharoubham under Kakching PS this morning.
The body was fished out from the river by a team of Kakching police.
During an inquest of the dead body by the police and id card was found from the dead body’s pocket.
The Id card is in the name of Paokholet Haokip, 32 son of Onthang Haokip of Sita village, Chandel issued to a lineman of the electricity department of Chandel division.
The dead body was found blindfolded with a black cloth and had bruises over his body. Police later deposited the body with the JNIMS mmortuary for further identification and post mortem examination.
