IMPHAL, June 10: The MPP on Sunday said the party found it quite amazing on the remarks made by Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh when he stated that the MGNREGS in the state has topped among all the states.
Actually, the MGNREGS in the state is full of controversies over non-payment of wages, lack of providing works, machines have placed in instead of human labourers, etc., the MPP alleged in a statement.
Saying that the statement might have been slipped from the tongue of the Union minister, MPP said the state Chief Minister had recently ridiculed the scheme as “it had been changed into a ‘job car’ from job card.”
The scheme has bluffed all the local bodies in the state, MPP accused and said that a number of complaints arising out of various controversies over the scheme are now pending in different courts.
At such, the party does not welcome the statement of the Union minister which lacks seriousness, the statement further added.
