JIRIBAM, June 18: As in other parts of the state, the Great June Uprising Day was also observed at the office of the Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, JIMPAL office at Jiribam today.
The day started with public offering floral tributes to the 18 martyrs and observing a two minute silence.
The observation was attended by UCM founder convenor Khomdram Ratan Singh, JIMPAHL president Th Jini Devi, All Jiribam Meira Paibi, president S Sushila Devi, JIMPAHL advisor B Sarat Sharma and AMSU Jiribam district committee Advisor E Dewan Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
WAKAK Jiri Branch leader Y Ragini Devi, All Jiribam Meira Paibi secretary Kh Pushpa Devi and AJUCA, ex-president M Maipaksana also spoke during the observation.
The observation was also attended by members of several meira paibi bodies, civil bodies and the general public.
