IMPHAL, June 12: National Investigation Agency, NIA sleuths have arrested KCP (MTF) commander in chief Kesho Meitei from a hotel in Siliguri, West Bengal yesterday.
The militant leader has been identified as Naorem Inakhunba alias Kesho alias Priyo, 37 son of Ningthemjao of Uchiwa Wangmataba.
According to sources, he was arrested on June 11 morning 11am by a team of NIA sleuth from a hotel at Hillcart road, Siliguri, West Bengal.
The team recovered a sum of Rs 11.5 lakh, one Id card, debit and credit cards of several banks from his possession, the source said.
The NIA team has further taken transit remand of the militant leader, the source added.
Mentioned may be made that the National Investigation Agency, NIA had busted a hideout of the banned KCP (MTF) on the Indo-Nepal border and nabbed two cadres including the outfit’s Finance Secretary Yumlembam Ingo Singh on March 22.
During the raid, the self-styled finance secretary of the outfit, Yumlembam Ingo Singh was arrested along with a suspected cadre belonging to the militant group while Kesho Meitei managed to escape.
Yumlembam Ingo, 38, is a resident of Wangoi Thiyam of Thoubal district, presently staying at Langol in Imphal West and is stated to be the husband of Kesho meitei’s wife’s sister.
KCP-MTF finance secretary Ingo was involved in the gruesome killing of a father and son who were the caretakers of Irilbung Water Supply at Irilbung in Imphal East last year.
