KYKL cadre arrested

Guwahati, June 26: A team of Guwahati City Police and 175 Bn CRPF arrested a KYKL cadre from Guwahati Railway station yesterday from Guwahati Railway station by a joint team.

The militant identified as Sairem Amudou alias Sundar was on his way to Dimapur from Nepal when he was arrested.

He had joined KYKL in 1997.

The arrested militant has been shifted to the Panbazar Police station on June 26.

He is involved in several killings of Hindi speaking people in Manipur, according to police.

Meanwhile, a news agency has added from Guwahati: a Manipuri militant, suspected to be returning to the state after undergoing training at Maoist camp at Nepal, was arrested from the Guwahati railway station last evening.

Police today said that Sairen Amudou alias Sundar, was a cadre of Kangleipak Yaok Kanna Lup (KYKL) and was arrested at about 1700 hours yesterday by a joint team of city police and CRPF.

He was enroute to Dimapur from Nepal, where he is suspected to have been trained at a Maoist camp.

Having joined KYKL in 1997, Sundar is suspected to be involved in killing of Hindi-speaking people in Manipur.
