IMPHAL, June 23: State Electricity Department has collected a total tax of Rs 13,23,663 from unauthorized power consumers during a drive since June 24 from certain areas of the state.
The areas covered during the drives include Mongsangei, Haobam Marak Mamang Leikai, Heikrujam Mamang Leikai, Thawanthaba Leirak Muslim, Edigah, Laishram Leikai, Khabeisoi Muslim, Wangbal, Moirang Bazar, Bishnupur Bazar, Ngaikhong and Kakching Wairi.
During the drive, IED-I division disconnected five defaulters and booked seven unauthorised consumers and collected Rs 180000 as tax.
IED-II division disconnected four defaulters, booked four unauthorised consumers and collected Rs 70168 as tax while IED III booked nine unauthorised consumers during the drive.
IMD booked six unauthorised consumers and collected Rs 41230 as tax while connections of five defaulters were disconnected in Thoubal division and collected Rs 8550.
Connections of 14 defaulters were disconnected and one unauthorised consumer booked while Rs 6000 were collected as tax from Bishnupur division during the drive.
The RED-I (Kak) disconnected connections of 16 defaulters and collected Rs 83340 as tax during the drive.
