IMPHAL, June 24: Maoist Communist Party, Manipur appeals to the lawyers of All Manipur Bar Association to help in representing the underprivileged section.

A release by publicity secretary of the outfit Nonglen Meitei states that those detained under the National Security Act had to fork out to the tune of Rs 50,000 to 1 lac as judicial fees, such costs cannot be borne by the downtrodden sections especially the farmers.

Some outfits are pouring money to get the innocent persons out from jail and use them for their own ends. For the Maoist, there will be no compromise and such unfair means of exploiting the people will not be carried out, it said.

The Maoist cadres are also approached that money will be provided for their release from jail, but it is known that the intentions of those offering are not in the right sentiments. Hence, the outfit requests the lawyers that they should look in the further interest of the people with a sense of sacrifice.
