IMPHAL, June 4: Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan alleges that his rice and kerosene for the month of March 2012, has been usurped by one Rk Chandrakumar.
The MLA alleged that the said PDS items were lifted by the said person who was not authorized to do so in May.
In the regard the MLA submitted a written complaint to Imphal West DC who replied that 195 quintals of APL, 469.08 of BPL, 306.95 of AAY including 20,320 of kerosene litres lifted by the former MLAs’ representative.
MLA Joykishan deflated the clarifications issued by Rk Chandrakumar and one H Henri in local newspapers.
In the regard, Joykishan said that lifting quotas for Imphal area has to be in tandem with other constituencies for Imphal West and utilization certificate is needed from the MLAs stating that their quotas have been received and distributed otherwise sanctioning of quotas is a hindrance.
The MLA stated that as a representative of the public, anomalies in distribution of PDS items needs to be addressed and further that there has to be transparency
