LAMKA, June 23: The Committee on Protection of Tribal Rights, Manipur, CoPTAM in a meeting with chiefs of Churachandpur district today at KKL Complex has decided that the proposed Municipal/Panchayat election does not take place in the Hill areas where ADC elections have been conducted.
In a press statement issued today, CoPTAM has stated that after reaffirming the decisions taken in its executive meeting earlier regarding to issues like the Land Records, Police Boundary and District Boundary, the chiefs have unanimously resolved to fully support CoPTAM in its upcoming agitation to the end.
The meeting was attended among others by representatives of Zomi Chiefs Association, Samulamlan Block Chiefs Association, United Chiefs Association, TRABDA, SSPP, Leimatak Area Chiefs Association as well as other chiefs of CCpur District.
