IMPHAL, June 2: Two prominent doctors, Dr AK Adhyapok, Principal of Regional Dental College, Guwahati and Dr S Saha professor and HOD of Public Health Dentistry of Sadar Patel Institute, Lucknow today inspected the manpower, infrastructure, equipments, laboratories, OPD of the dental department of RIMS and other relevant sections.
A statement of the hospital authorities said, “They also inspected the Anatomy, Physiology, biochemistry and hostel facilities with a view to recommending the issuance of permission for starting a BDS course in the Dental College, RIMS”.
The inspectors appeared to be satisfied with the existing and upcoming facilities. The RIMS authority is ready to comply with suggestions to cope with deficiencies in the upcoming facilities, it added.
Apart from making appointments and purchasing equipments the RIMS authority has done everything to realise the dream of opening the Dental College on the RIMS campus, it further continued.
It is felt in many circles that since there are adequate infrastructures the Dental College will start admitting students from this year`s session. There is already a Dental College Development Committee whose members are leaving no stone unturned to realize this dream, it ended.
