IMPHAL, June 28: A Honda Activa borne couple met with a road mishap this early morning when their scooter was hit by a Tata 407 mini truck, killing the husband and critically wounding the wife at Lilong Kaleikhong under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district.
Ningthoujam Naba, 45, son of late N Nageshwor of Khangabok Mayai Leikai, Thoubal died on the way to the hospital. His wife, Aruna Devi, 40 is now struggling for her life at Shija Hospitals, Langol.
Reports said Aruna has received serious head injuries.
The driver of the 407 Tata Mini Truck along with the vehicle involved in the incident is now in the custody of Lilong Police Station.
The body has been handed over to the family after conducting autopsy at JNIMS mortuary.
