IMPHAL, June 3: Imphal East district police commandos have arrested two militants from different areas in separate search operations, police said here today.
At about 4:30 pm yesterday, one cadre of the banned KCP (Noyon) group was nabbed near Adarsh Laboratory, Kangla Pat here. He has been identified as Pebam Somorendro alias Somen, 50, son of late P Nimai, a resident of Mongsangei Mamang Leikai, Imphal West.
One mobile handset and Rs 20,000 in cash were recovered from him.
Another woman activist of the banned PREPAK was apprehended near MPP office, Pologround Maning here around 3:15 pm yesterday. The PREPAK activist has been identified as Chanambam Memcha Leima, 40, wife of Ch Ingocha of Sairemkhun in Imphal West, police added.
