IMPHAL, June 23: As a part of the drive against the vehicle lifter/Paddler in Imphal East District, the Imphal East District Police have drastically blown some groups of vehicle lifters/paddlers in the past few days, said Addl SP of Imphal East District M Rajen during a press briefing held at his office chamber today.
Giving detailed report of the recovered vehicles he said that first, on June 20 at about 3:00 pm during a search operation under the supervision of AddlSP (Ops)Imphal East,one Bolero (White Colour) bearing regdno MN-01W/8874 was found abandoned at Wangkheirakpam (RR.Bijoysana Leirak), Nongmeibung, Imphal East was recovered by ateam of CDO/IE.
Proper verificationof the vehiclehas revealed that thesaid Bolero belongs to the Spastic Society of Manipur which was stolen away by unknown miscreants between 10:00 pm to 5:00 amof June 14 and 15. The said vehicle has been handed overto Imphal Police Station by observing formalities for further investigation. Imphal East Police are also tryinghard toidentify and nab theculprits.
Second,on June 22 at around 8:30 amon receiving a specific and reliableinformationregardinga stolenvehicleparked near a workshop at Porompat near thePorompat Petrol Pump, a teamof CDO, IE under the supervision of DSP (CDO), IE approached the same workshop locatedjust opposite of the Porompat Oil Pump for conducting a search operation.In that, one HONDA-JAZZ IVTEC car silver in colour bearing regdNo MN-04A16786was foundparked near the workshop `Yaima Garage` run byMutum YaimaSingh of Keirao Khunouwith the driver namely Md Imran Khan, 30, S/O Md Shahbuddin of Kiyamgei Mayai Leikai.
On spot verificationof the vehicle i.e. HONDA-JAZZ IVTEC car silver in colour bearing Regd No MN-04A16786,Engine No. L12B12701881 & Chassis No MAKGGl71ABN101314 was registered on February 15, 2011.
On further verification of the vehicle and the registration certificate in co-ordination with the Director, Transport Department, Govt of Manipurit was found that the same vehicle was purchased on March 18,2011 fromBAS ENGG PVT LTD and registered in the name of MisBESTECH INDIA PVT LTD Plot no 124S, Sector 44, Gurgaon on 22/04/2011at SDM-I, North Haryanabearing regd no HR26BJ/5341, which means the registrationcertificate foundfrom thepossession of Imran isa forged document and the vehicle is a stolen vehicle.
Md. Imran Khanwas arrestedalong with the vehicle and handed over to Porompat Police Station.
