    IMPHAL, June 15: Public Health Engineering Department has disconnected many unauthorized connections of hydrants at Langjing to Tera Bazaar areas while checking unauthorized consumers and collecting taxes in the area, said a PWD release.

    The release informed that all the unauthorized consumers in the Uripok area to bring their necessary papers to regularize the connection and at the same time all the authorized customers are also informed to clear their due bills and reconnect it, starting from June 26 at the office of the Executive Engineer, Water Supply Maintenance Division-I, Khuyathong to avoid disconnection.

    According to Water Supply Act 1992, unauthorized connection can be fined upto Rs 3000 or six months jail term or both, it added.
