IMPHAL, June 9: SAI-RC lifted the champion’s trophy, defeating UPAA in the final day of the 8th Edition Governor’s Cup State Level Fencing Championship at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium today.
SAI-RC won seven gold out of eight events being played today on the final day. Earlier UPAA was leading with two gold, six silver and eight bronze medals.
SAI-RC won a total of 13 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals in the championship.
Junior Girl’s Epee result: A Devala (SAI-RC) won the gold defeating H Linthoi (UPPA), while O Sanatombi (PPLYDO) and Kh Rangita (SAI-RC) won bronze.
Junior Girl’s Sabre result: G Krishnakumari (SAI-RC) won gold defeating Kh Premlata (OLA), while Th Pushpa and K Cherish (MIISIKHOLL) won bronze.
Cadet Boy’s Foil result: Kh Meitei Gandhi (PPLYDO) won gold defeating H Herojit, while Sanjoy (MMC) and Max Khuman (MMC) won bronze.
Cadet Girl’s Foil result: W Thoibi (SAI-RC) won gold defeating O Japan, while Th Malemnganbi (MMC) and Th Ichal (UPPA) were adjusted with bronze.
Junior Boy’s Foil result: W Roshan (SAI-RC) bagged gold defeating H Herojit (SAI-RC), while O Yohenba (OLA) and Bicky (PPLYDO) were adjusted with bronze.
Junior Boy’s Epee result: S Penand (SAI-RC) bagged gold defeating H Sunil (Bishnupur), while I Jhony and N Santosh were adjusted with bronze.
Junior Boy’s Sabre result: S Lucky Star (SAI-RC) bagged gold defeating M Kamal, while Ch Rajagandhi (SAI-RC) and S Robinson (PPLYDO) were adjusted with bronze.
Junior Girl’s Foil result: W Thoibi (SAI-RC) bagged gold defeating M Sayalaxmi (MIISIKHOLL), while H Lemarembi (UPAA) and Kh Nandini (SAI-RC) were adjusted with bronze.
