IMPHAL, June 18: Following the Ministry of Defence DIG Indraj’s physical inspection of the Counter Insurgency and Anti-Terrorism School/Subsidiary Training Centre at Yairalpokpi, Jiribam earlier this month, the Ministry of Defence has heavily censured the state government, informed a source.
The censure has come following displeasure expressed by the DIG during his June 6 visit to the state regarding the non-completion of the school even after the centre has sanctioned the whole funding for its completion.
In the wake of the severe censure from the central Ministry, the Manipur Police Training College, MPTC Director P Doungel will be visiting the school tomorrow to inspect the work progress, a source informed.
Sources further informed that four vehicles of state police personnel had already left Imphal regarding the Director’s Jiribam visit tomorrow.
They however returned to Imphal as the highway remains blocked by recent landslides.
The Jiribam police commandos have already taken all necessary actions regarding provision of security cover and escort to the Director during his stay at the sub-division, the source said.
It may be mentioned that the state ADGP (AP) PM Goud had already inspected the school on June 12 following the central Ministry DIG’s displeasure over the non-completion of the construction of the school.
Construction of almost all infrastructures of the said school which lie about eight kms east of Jiribam PS including quarter guard, administrative block, Jawan barrack, class rooms, sanitary block have been completed, what is left is the connection of power supply, water supply and black topping of the approach road.
