State NCP dissolved

IMPHAL, June 24: NCP president Sharad Power has formally ordered dissolution of the NCP Manipur Pradesh committee led by ex MLA Radhabinod Koijam.

Briefing mediapersons at Keisamthong Laishom Leirak, lone MLA of the political party L Ibomcha stated that he was called by the national president on June 21. After personally meeting Pawar, he was handed directives that the RB led state committee has been dissolved and that Ibomcha should institute an adhoc committee for the meantime.

Ibomcha alleged that Radhabinod has been ousted following financial mismanagement of party funds during the last assembly elections. This was a main factor for the NCP candidates losing in the last assembly election, Radhabinod had also staged the last state NCP elections for his benefit without informing other prominent members, he alleged.

Further, the ex MLA had also voiced support to PA Sangma without the approval of the party leaders including Sharad Pawar.  

L Ibomcha said that he has been selected to convene an adhoc committee as an interim arrangement and the new committee will be set up within a few weeks time.

He said that after the institution of the committee, the office bearers will be selected and he will be the president of the Adhoc committee, The MLA will also enrol for North East Nationalist Congress Coordination Committee at Gauhati membership, the presidential elections will also be conducted afterwards for the state NCP, he said.

Clarifying on not attending the state NCP foundation day observed recently, Ibomcha stated his reason for not attending among other reasons was that his name was not mentioned in the invitation.

He also clarified that there is no split in the NCP state chapter.
