IMPHAL, June 3: Excellent Academy lifted the trophy defeating Keibi High School 2-1, in the U-17 boy’s Imphal East Subroto Mukhrejee football tournament 2012 at Practice Ground, Khuman Lampak.
In the U-17 girls’ category, Oriental English School took the title defeating Keibi High School by 2-0, while North Eastern English School won the U-14 boy’s trophy defeating Khundrakpam Public School in the final today at Practice field.
The closing function of the District Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament 2012 organized by the District Youth Affairs & Sports office, Imphal East at Practice Field, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal, was attended by Y Thamkishore Singh, IAS, director, Census Operation, Manipur and RK Dinesh Singh, IAS, deputy commissioner, Imphal East as the chief guest and president respectively.
In the today’s final match of the U-17 boy’s, Excellent Academy beat Keibi High School 2-1. Excellent Academy took the lead in7th minute of the match credited to K Renil, which was followed by K Inao in the 50th minute. While Keibi High School could reply to only one goal by S Premkumar in 54th minute of the match.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 girl’s final, Oriental English School thrash Keibi High Scool 2-0, where S Zinnia and Kashmina scored the goals in the 11th and 44th minutes of the match.
Later, in the U-14 boy’s final, North Eastern English School beat Khundrakpam Public School 3-0. Yasir contributed one goal in the 5th and Thangam contributed two goals in the 13th and 18th minutes.
