IMPHAL, June 4: Tamei MLA Z Kikhoubou Newmai today assured improvement of roads, bridges and other facilities in his constituency.

The newly elected MLA said he will try his level best in developing his constituency which is one of the most neglected areas in the state.

Seeking cooperation from his people, he said Tamei is one of the largest constituencies in Tamenglong District lying in the most interior parts of the state neighbouring both Assam and Nagaland and has a population of around 32 thousand only.

Expressing gratitude to his people for supporting him during the recently held Manipur state Assembly election, he assured he wouldn’t let his people down.

He said if the state has to develop as a whole, then interior and neglected constituencies like his own have to be developed first and he will cooperate with the government in any way to develop the constituency.

He will also seek help from the government in his endeavour and check if the funds from the government meant for the people have reached the actual beneficiaries.

The MLA further expressed the need of unity amongst the people of the state.

He said if the people are united, then not only a constituency but the whole state will progress.

The MLA was speaking at the Thanksgiving cum house warming programme of his official quarter.
