IMPHAL, June 8: Three leaders formerly of Manipur People’s Party (MPP) including former Union Minister Th Chaoba and his trusted lieutenant Robin Blackei have joined the BJP.
The other leader is former minister Sorokhaibam Rajen.
BJP also selected Yanglet Haokip as the party’s state Enrolment in-charge. The present three-year term of the party’s executive members ends December this year.
Welcoming the new members at the party’s office here state unit President Sh Shantikumar said, the leaders have made the right step by joining the party.
He also it is significant considering the onset of Lok Sabha elections. He also expressed confidence of more leaders joining the party in the near future.
Th Chaoba said the BJP is the right political platform. While, S Rajen accused the state Congress of being a corrupt ruling party and said the entire development works being taken up in the state are sub-standard.
