IMPHAL, June 2: In protest against the mysterious death of one VDF personnel, locals of Keirao Mating Leikai this evening stormed the Irilbung PS around 4pm demanding investigation in the case and to punishment for all found involved in the case.
The locals were pacified only after the police assured that the police have picked up the prime suspect Loukrakpam Sanjoy for further interrogation.
The locals later submitted a memorandum to the concern OC and met with the Imphal East SP.
The VDF personnel identified as one Md Imtiyaz Khan, 25, son of late Rahmat Tula of Keirao Mating Leikai was found dead from Keirao along the Iril River bank Friday morning.
A local informed media persons that (L) Md Imtiyaz had gone out of his home along with the prime suspect L Sanjoy on May 31 around 8:30pm and failed to return until his dead body was found on June 1 morning.
Mentioned may be made that police had expressed belief that he might have died of a drug overdose, while family members had suspected a foul.
