WMO urges edn reforms

    IMPHAL, May 2: The World Manipuri Organization (WMO) has appealed to the state Education Minister for a reformation of educational system in the state on Saturday.

    In a statement, WMO urged upon the state Education Minister to assist the BPLs and handicapped persons equally with other students who are provided stipend and honorariums by the government.

    Those students who go to their educational institutions crossing more than one km should be helped; the organization said and added that it wants the practical type of education system as introduced by Dr Nelson Mandela of South Africa.

    WMO also requested the minister to allow economically poor students to appear only the failed subjects in annual exams and to consider for students who cannot afford private tuition.
