2nd edition of transformation challenge starts

IMPHAL, July 22: The preliminary round of the 2nd transformation Challenge, 2012 organized by the Apunba Fitness Centre, Nagamapal has started from today at the centre.

The preliminary round of the challenge is being participated by 110 men and 50 women. The last edition had only 99 participants.

The final round of the challenge will be held on October 23 at the same venue, while the grand day will be held at Bheigyachandra Open Ait Theatre on October 28.

As part of the preliminary round, the height, weight of the participants were measured today at the centre.

A woman weighing 124.6 kg with a height of 5’2’’was the heaviest amongst the women competitors.

Last year’s women champion had lost around 18 kgs during the competition.

Meanwhile, a man weighing 125 kg with a height of 5’7” was the heaviest competitor. Last year’s winner in the men’s section had lost 20 kgs.

A woman competitor, K Aruna of Lilong Chajing Karam, 36 weighing 106 kgs and with a height of 5.5 told media persons that she is looking forward to a healthy lifestyle and it is not just about winning the completion.

She said she was always interested in various forms of exercise like aerobics, but due to her eating habits she cannot keep long with her healthy lifestyle.

Meanwhile, another competitor of the men’s section, Malemgnanba Chenglei weighing 85 kg with a 5.6 height said he was attracted towards the championship since the first edition of the challenge.

He said he wanted to become muscular and is not just looking about the competition.
