    IMPHAL, July 18: The Kabui Development Voluntary Organisation , in a release stated that there are so many differences between the Kabui and Rongmei tribes interms of  arts, religion, culture, festival and even in costumes.  The Rongmei tribe was recognized by the government of India on January 9, 2012 followed by a notification.

    Continuing further it said that, the inclusion of names of other tribe in the serial no. 8 has to be included separately. The government of Manipur had also circulated a gazette notification on March 27, 2012 in relation to the matter.

    It also appealed to the concerned authority of Manipur government to look thoroughly at the time of issuing tribe certificate. It will not be right to take things easily in giving tribe certificate, pondering at once would be a right way, the statement said.

    The organization further drew the attention of Manipur government to work on the matter with sincerity by considering the welfare of the indigenous people of the state to prevent from creating tensions.
