IMPHAL, July 28: Following a quash order issued by a single bench of Justice Tayenjam Nandakumar of Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench to the revised select lists of MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination, 2012 conducted by the Directorate of Health Services Manipur, the state government has filed an appeal challenging the quash order.
The appealants are health and family welfare commissioner K Moses Chalai and director of Manipur Health Services Surchandra.
The hearing for their Appeal No. 25 of 2012 is scheduled on Monday. However, the hearing is likely to be postponed if the requisite number of judges of a division bench is not present. The state government is also prepared to take the appeal to the Principal Bench of Gauhati High Court.
It may be mentioned that a writ petition N0. 371 of 2012 was filed by six candidates from Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur challenging the revised select lists of MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination 2012. The Gauhati High Court has subsequently quashed the revised lists and instructed the state health services to issue a new revised list within seven days.
