Assam Rifles operations at Khoibu Centre Manipur

Manipur,IMPHAL, July 30: In the aftermath of a fierce gunfight between the personnel of Assam Rifles and suspected PLA cadres at Khoibu Centre yesterday, the 24th Assam Rifles Tengnoupal Post under the command of a Major today conducted massive search operations in the jungles of Khoibu Centre under Tengnoupal police station in Chandel district.

According to sources, the search operation was conducted to bust the hideouts of the underground cadres. The villagers were not allowed to move out from their villages during the operation.

Meanwhile, the two missing women K Lumshel and S Bongyan returned home today. They were hiding in the gorges in fear of the gunfight.

T Moshel, 50, of Khoibu Centre Biyang who sustained severe bullet injuries on his left arm has been admitted to RIMS for treatment.

So far no report has been made by the Assam Rifles to the police regarding the incident. However, the officer-in-charge of Tengnoupal Police Station has inquired the health condition of injured civilian at RIMS.
