24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sect Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) identified 11 children in Tengnoupal Sub Division for Sponsoring school education expenses.
These children belong to economically challenged families and with the initiative taken by 24 Assam Rifles will be able to continue their education and look for better avenues in life.
Utensils and House hold items were gifted to the HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Centre in a function held at Tengnoupal by Mrs Uma Gurung, President, ARWWA HQ IGAR(S) on 21 Jul 12.
The Chief Guest while interacting with the village youths encouraged them to pursue their higher education and participate in various development activities in the village where she gifted the stationeries to the school children.
In another occasion, 42 Assam Rifles carried out screening of educational movie for children at Chandel village on 21 Jul 12. More than 150 children attended the programme.
