IMPHAL, July 26: The Commissioner of Manipur government has notified in a release statement to collect license by all the Food Business Operators of the land from the concerned district officer and food safety officer by registering on or before August 4 under the Food Safety Act 2006 (34 of 2006) and Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registering of Food Business) regulation 2011.
Further it said, obtaining license and registering under the provision of the act is a mandatory for the OBOs. Functioning of food business without license is punishable under laws. It also reveals to those operators who have registered earlier and functioning yet under the old act and rules should obtain fresh license of new act, it added.
Detailed information can be had from the district chief medical officer/designated officer of food safety, the Directorate of Information and Public Relations said a release.
