Integrity protection day observed

IMPHAL, July 27: The All Clubs Orgns Assn & Meira Paibi-Lup (ACOAMLUP) today observed Integrity Protection Day at the Lamyanba Sanglen, Palace Gate today.

The organization has been observing the day in the state since 2009.

Working President ACOAMLUP, KANGLAMEI President Y Leirikleima and ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak advisor H Kula were presidium members at the function.

Secretary General of ACOAMLUP Sanjit Soraisam in his key-note address said the organization acknowledges the sacrifices of the people including the 18 lives lost during the Great June Uprising, 2001 in the state and places it in the highest level.  

He said that the organization will face any kinds of threats on the territorial integrity of the state.

The organization has been participating in all state territorial integrity related issues since its establishment in 2001 and it had also taken a leading role in pressuring the centre for removal of the phrase “without territorial limits” from the cease fire agreement between the centre and the NSCN (IM), he continued.

United Committee, Manipur president Y Nabachandra in his address said, the different civil societies and organizations in the state should cast off all differences and start working for the welfare of the state with unity.

He further acknowledged the ACOAM-Lup for its undeterred acts during the 2001 uprising.

UCM draws inspiration and encouragement from the Lup, he said and further expressed gratitude to the lup for observing the day.

He further expressed his believe that the observation will prevail upon the people of the state that unity is strength.

He also called upon the civil societies and organizations of the state to come under a single umbrella.

The observation was attended by people from all over the state.
