IMPHAL, July 17: The JAC instituted regarding the disappearance of one Irungbam Irabanta, has warned of carrying out agitations if the NSCN (IM) does not clarify on the issue before July 19.
The state government should also produce facts leading to Irabanta’s disappearance otherwise violent agitations will begin from July 20 onwards, the JAC warned today.
The resolution was adopted at a public meeting held at Nongdam Maning Leikai community hall today against the disappearance.
The meeting was also attended by the general public
It may be mentioned that Irungbam Irabanta, 38, son of (L) Kerani, resident of Nongdam Maning Leikai, at present staying at a rented house near the JNIMS hospital, gate number 3 has remained untraceable since May 28 last.
He along with one MK Winner,33, son of Ramsing had left together for Ukhrul on the said date at about 7:35 pm in a Maruti Gypsy.
MK Winner is said to have close ties with the NSCN (IM).
Irabanta is a contractor by profession and supplies stone and sand for construction of Maphou Dam.
