IMPHAL, July 14: The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System, in a meeting convened today at MDU Hall, has resolved to hold more discussions on Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873 and get opinions and comments from legal experts and intellectuals.
The meeting further resolved to form a high power committee comprising of legal experts, members of political parties, intellectuals and members of civil society organizations to urge the government to implement the ILP System latest by November 18.
The Joint Committee also resolved to launch stern agitations from November 18 if the government fails to implement the ILP System in the state.
The meeting was also attended by convenor Sapamcha Jadumani, co-convenor Sunil Karam, co-convenor Joy Chingakham, media co-convenor Thokchom Somorendro as presidium members.
